LUSUBILO BRINGS SAFE WATER TO KAJONI VDC IN RUMPHI
With the financial support from Coppel Family, Lusubilo Community Care is implementing IOVCY project in collaboration with CRS. One of the key interests in the IOVCY project, more especially under the Community approach, is the provision of portable water to households. Kajoni VDC under GVH Kanakulera T/A Mwalweni is amongst other targeted communities that will benefit from this initiative.

In the meantime, Kajoni CBO has received a number of project materials which will be required for the successful installation of communal taps in targeted villages under GVH Kanakulera. All the necessary materials have been successfully delivered. Before offloading the materials, we had a meeting with the CBO executive committee in order to enforce security of materials and enhancing accountability.
The materials that have been delivered by the transporter are 40mm PVC pipes, 25mm PVC pipes, Galvanized Pipes, Galvanized Bib Taps, PVC T-junction, 20mm Adaptors, Gate Valves and 10 bags of cement just to mention a few. After the completion of this intervention, Kajoni will have safe and clean water for domestic use. This will improve the prevention of waterborne diseases.
In attendance we had the GVH, CDA, F/O, CBO members and other local leaders.
Lusubilo Community Care is implementing this particular water intervention at Kajoni with the approval of Rumphi District Council and the assistance from the communities which will benefit from tap water.
